At the Frankfurt Motor Show, the South Korean automaker Hyundai has shown pre-production version of electric vehicle based on the compact i10. Hyundai i10 Electric is equipped with a lithium-polymer batteries, 20% more compact than standard lithium-ion, and therefore the weight electric cars could keep within the limits of 1000 kg. From an industrial network voltage 413 battery is charging up to 85% capacity in 15 minutes, and from household 220 volt - 5 hours.
Electric power 49 kW, which has a torque of 210 Nm at 2,670 rpm, the i10 Electric accelerates to 100 km / h in 15 seconds and then to the maximum 130 km / h. Run to the charge is around 160 km.
Electric vehicle will go on sale for a limited long-term tests in Korea in the spring of 2010. Then a final decision on its mass production.
